As model train shows are usually organised and hosted by a a local railway club it is great place to meet other enthusiasts and exhibitors and you are able to acquire some great tips that you can use for improving your own layouts. It is commonly thought to be a middle aged mans hobby but from experience we can say that the model train shows attract audience from a wide demographic range. You will find young children fascinated by the mechanics of the layouts up to the stereotypical railway modeller. Layouts are run by men, women who are both young and old and the common denominator is that they all have the passion for their layout. With the demographic net being cast wide you may be surprised as to how many people you actually know when you go to your local model train shows.
